ABOUT THE BOOK

Doing the Most is an honest, faith-centered journey through burnout, boundaries, and identity. It was written for women who have been strong for too long and are now learning how to rest, reflect, and choose themselves without guilt.

This book blends real-life experiences, spiritual grounding, and gentle reflection to help women move from survival mode into intentional living.

About The Book

Why I Wrote the Book

I wrote Doing the Most because I was living it.

Not perfect. Not over-performed. Just real.

I was responsible. Reliable. Accomplished. The one everyone could count on. And I was tired in ways rest couldn’t fix.

This book is the conversation I wish someone had with me when I was giving everything and leaving nothing for myself. It’s about unlearning survival mode and choosing a life that feels peaceful, intentional, and aligned with God.

Not to correct grammar.

Just answer simple questions like:

  • Did this speak to you?

  • Did you feel seen?

  • Was anything confusing?

  • Did anything hit deep?

  • Did it flow?

you will be walking with me while the book is still being written. you will help make sure the message lands in the readers heart. Are you a woman that can connect with this journey?

MEET THE AUTHOR

My name is Corean Davis-Banton, and before I was an author, I was the woman trying to hold everything together. I am a wife and a mother of three incredible children, including an 18-year-old and 12-year-old twins. My life is full, busy, and deeply meaningful. I have a professional career as a City Administrator, I stay active in my children’s extracurricular activities, I am involved in church, and in the quiet spaces in between all of that, I write.

Like many women, I wear a lot of hats. And for a long time, I wore them with pride. Being dependable, being strong, being the one who always showed up felt like a badge of honor. But somewhere along the way, “being strong” started to feel like being tired all the time. Being responsible started to feel like being stretched thin. And showing up for everyone else started to mean disappearing from myself.

I wrote Doing the Most because I know what it feels like to be needed by everyone and still feel like you’re running on empty. I know what it’s like to be successful on paper but exhausted in real life. To love your family, your career, and your commitments, yet still quietly wonder when you get to rest.

My life is active and full of purpose, but it’s also easy to become overwhelmed when everything depends on you. And if I can feel this way with faith, structure, and support, I know I am not alone. I know there are countless women who are giving their best every day and still questioning why they feel so depleted. This book was born out of my own need to slow down and be honest with myself. To acknowledge that burnout is not a personal failure. That boundaries are not selfish. That rest is not laziness. And that choosing yourself does not mean abandoning your responsibilities, it means honoring your humanity. Doing the Most is not about quitting your life. It’s about learning how to live it without losing yourself in the process. It’s about shifting from survival mode into intentional living. It’s about recognizing that you don’t have to earn rest, and you don’t have to prove your worth through exhaustion. I believe rest is holy. I believe boundaries are necessary. And I believe healing is possible. My hope is that every woman who reads this book feels seen. That she feels understood. That she feels permission to pause without guilt. That she realizes she does not have to carry everything alone, and she does not have to be everything to everyone all the time. This book is not just a reflection of my journey. It’s an invitation to yours.
